Okolie Uchechukwu diminishes boundaries. He breaks the boundaries of perception and realism. As a top 3D artist and architect based in Lagos, the six feet plus introvert, having worked with some architectural firms, now freelances and also runs his own studio, Cleec Designs. Okolie’s 3D architectural visuals are almost indistinguishable from real life photography. He makes the seemingly impossible possible by the addition of real world imperfections to his art. Scratches in metals, splinters and chips in timber boards, even fingerprints are some of the notable features that help break the barriers of realism and perception.
Currently studying for his Masters in Architecture at the University of Lagos, Okolie graduated from the same discipline from the University of Nigeria. His proficiency in Physics and Mathematics while in college gave him options in other fields such as Electrical Electronics Engineering but his passion for arts and technical drawing endeared him into enrolling for architecture. Countless hours spent in research and personal development has transformed Okolie’s architectural art from lame to a distinguished level of proficiency.
The variety of his works and the different techniques used in each project keeps his work fresh. He often creates CG articles for Castles Lifestyle Magazine and blogs. He has been involved in a number of exhibitions and enjoys the experience of meeting other artists and architects and learning about their unique work approaches.
Okolie is a perfect example of why happy people create better works, he his usually seen with broad smile and is quite jovial when not busy. When he is not designing or working on his laptop, he usually spends his time sleeping, playing chess, watching movies or taking a meditating stroll down the street.
Proficient in software's like Autocad, Revit Architecture, 3D Max, Photoshop, After Effects etc and a fan of Daniel Libeskind, Zaha Hadid and Vincent Callebaut. He is depicting the limitless nature of one’s creative abilities, through dissatisfaction with achievements and a continuous drive to get better. He really loves and enjoys his job.
